International
Since 1980, Athletes in Action Baseball has been fielding International summer competing teams. AIA Baseball has competed, and shared the Gospel in nearly every continent, including countries such as Ecuador, Australia, Czechoslovakia, Costa Rica, Korea, Scandinavia, Philippines, Sweden, Taiwan, Yugoslavia, Mexico, Nicaragua, and all over Europe and Central America.
AIA’s desire is to help team members grow in their personal faith and to challenge them to take the next step in their relationship with the Lord no matter where they are in their faith journey. The players regularly meet with a team chaplain to discuss what they are learning from their encounters with new communities, cultures, and languages. These chaplains conduct Bible studies and discussions to encourage players and coaches to apply a Biblical approach to their everyday lives.
Each athlete receives ministry training, equipping him to effectively share his faith. It is our hope that each player examines his identity as a Christian and learns how to incorporate his love for the game of baseball with his love for Jesus Christ.
For the summer of 2018, AIA Baseball’s International team will again be tentatively travelling to Panama and Guatemala. The team will meet up in Miami, FL and from there will travel to the two countries for a five week tour.
